Camden
County is our neighbor to the south stretching between the
Little Satilla River and the St. Mary's River along the Florida
border. Settled by the Spanish in the 1500's and won into
British control after the Battle of Bloody Marsh on St. Simons
Island, Camden County today is the home of King's Bay Naval
Submarine Base, the city of St. Mary's and Cumberland Island,
where wild horses run along the beach... and where John Kennedy
Jr. and Caroline Bissett married in a private ceremony in 1996.
For years, most of
the population of Camden County was based out of Kingsland and
St. Mary's on the southern reaches of the county. Recently, new
development has overflowed out of Glynn into northern Camden
along Dover Bluff Road and the Satilla River.
While most of
Camden County is served under the Camden/Charlton Board of
REALTORS®, the northern portion of Camden County overlaps with
the Brunswick-Glynn Board due to proximity. Homes in this part
of Camden County vary greatly in style and prices depending on
the type of property, location and it's proximity to marsh or
deep water.
